About Us

For over 400 years, the Barton family home has been The Waterfoot, a historically listed estate on the shores of Loch Erne in Northern Ireland. Thirty years ago, a branch of the family settled in Rarotonga and built a home and business on the island’s sunset coast. Refurbished in 2017 to a five-star standard, this beachfront villa is now known as Waterfoot House, a private, luxury escape we are proud to share with you.

Today, Waterfoot House is looked after by Sana, our live-in Villa Butler from Bali. With care and attention to detail, he maintains the villa daily, ensuring the grounds, suites, and pool are always pristine. He also offers optional in-villa dining with 24 hours’ notice, specializing in authentic Balinese cuisine, island platters, BBQs, and breakfast. Speak with Sana about what he can prepare during your stay, and pre-book meals through the villa managers.

Your hosts Lucile & Tim, a French-German duo with over 15 years’ experience managing luxury resorts across Rarotonga and Aitutaki, are on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. They’ll greet you during your stay and remain available throughout, offering the perfect balance of privacy and professional service.

Waterfoot House is more than just a place to stay. It’s a home with history, heart, and hospitality.
